Supervised engineering and craft labor on the construction of a Water Treatment Facility (Superfund Site) for the NJDEP. Interfaced daily with NJDEP government officials, the DCA (governmental inspection agency), subcontractors, and management. Responsibilities included scheduling manpower (engineering and craft labor) and construction activities utilizing primavera scheduling software, QA/QC, and preparation and negotiations with subcontractor packages. Daily contact with subcontractors to: monitor and expedite performance, and to resolve outstanding problems (disputes) with technical compliance with the contract specifications and scheduling.

Directly involved with design, installation, and construction, as it related to equipment, purchasing of mechanical and electrical equipment and systems, piping (plumbing and process), civil, instrumentation, HVAC (equipment/ductwork) architectural design, and erection of buildings. Prepared the Operation and Maintenance Plans and SOP's for Plant Operations. Supervised onsite engineering disciplines assigned to the project. Prepared Change Order requests.

After construction, I supervised the start up and directed the first years Operation and Maintenance (O&M) activities for the facility. Responsibilities focused on start up of all plant systems, troubleshooting HVAC systems, optimization of plant operations and maintenance activities in an effort to reduce the overall operating budget through energy conservation, waste minimization and process improvements; instituted a computerized maintenance program for tracking, and scheduling as part of a preventative maintenance plan.

Liaison between plant management and plant craft labor; instituted the plants preventative maintenance program and supervised and directed the activities of other engineers assigned to the project.

Senior Mechanical Engineer
On assignment in Oslo, Norway for design of a 250,000-BPD offshore drilling and production oil platform for the Norwegian government. Responsibilities included preparation of rotating equipment specifications, requisitions, bid evaluations/ recommendations, auxiliary P&ID's, review of engineering flow diagrams, and expediting of vendor drawings and data.
