I have spent the majority of the last 32 years working in various aspects of the design build construction, fabrication or manufacturing industries, where I served in capacities from general laborer to managing hundreds of employees at a time.
I have developed or helped develop numerous projects from the ground up, while working on land based residential, commercial and industrial projects, as well as on and offshore marine projects.
I have held State Contractors licenses in electrical, mechanical ( HVAC ) and general contracting in several states, as well as having masters level experience in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, pipe fitting, instrumentation, concrete and floor coverings ie.. wood, tile and carpeting, as well as thorough background knowledge in welding fabrication, roofing, sheetrock, painting and wall coverings.
I am competent to operate most trade related equipment, I am currently listed with the International Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America.
Computers: I am competent with most computer software, I have written several programs for estimating, project scheduling and calculation compilation. I am fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, Works and Power Point. I have experience with several types of CAD software. I am fluent with e-mail and the internet and have done web-site work. I am competent with some computer hardware installation and set-up.
Permitting, Development & Entitlement Processes : I have a thorough knowledge of Federal, State and local building codes and departmental policy & procedure, as well as a comprehensive understanding of municipal planning requirements. I have the ability to identify and resolve impediments to the development process of a project. I am comfortable interacting with all parties necessary to the approval process of such projects, including representation of the project and or company at public forums. I am also capable to handle negotiation of municipal conditions for approval while maintaining development rights of the client.
Blueprints, Submittals and Shop Drawings: I have studied drafting and design since my sixth grade year in elementary school and continued education through my first year of junior college.
I am competent to design and draw prints for most projects from the ground up, I have done as-built shop drawings and in-field design for numerous projects. I have worked extensively with the submittal process on numerous projects.
Estimating and Purchasing: I have twenty-five ( 25+ ) plus years of experience in estimating and
Purchasing having been responsible for the estimating and purchasing for numerous electrical and general contracting firms such as Omni-Phase Electrical Contractors, Elite Builders, Heritage Homes, Community Builders, Better-Lite of America, North American Homes, Corp. and Dream Builders as well as BASE, Inc. Having derived a significant portion of my income from project related cost savings or from direct profits, I have learned to be thorough as well as cost conscious, without detracting from the quality of the project.
Cost Accounting: Capable of organizing set-up, creation of forms, documents, registers and journals, as well as the implementation of dual entry accounting methods to control and account for all accrued costs and expenses of a design build construction project or manufacturing venture.
Contract Writing, Negotiation, Arbitration and Collection: Educational background in Business Law and Accounting and numerous years of job related experience have helped to equip me with the necessary skills to keep disputes, collections, and legal proceedings to a minimum, while still protecting the financial interests of my employer and myself.
Having spent many years working closely with attorneys, I have developed an understanding of the legal language that allows me to deal with most attorneys and their firms on a level of mutual respect.
Resource Management: Having spent a large portion of my time in the industry, working for very small to medium sized firms, several of these firms were start-up companies with minimal resources, which had to compete with large firms for revenue in their respective industries.
Working in this type of environment has generally forced me to learn to be efficient; I have learned that to be organized and well prepared, in most circumstances, will keep you profitable in business.
I have managed various assets, including materials and personnel for several business entities.
Productivity & Efficiency Analysis: Efficiency is a standard of excellence by which most of us are gauged, whether or not an efficiency rating is accurate is unpredictable, as the tools for measurement are vague and rely on opinions. These opinions, which may or may not be biased, are necessary to form an analysis. I am currently working on a computer generated program designed to analyze human resource efficiency and productivity.
Field Experience: As stated previously I am licensed and competent to work with my tools in several trade classifications, I have excellent memory skills and extremely good mechanical aptitude, having worked with my tools on for a large percentage of my career, I not only enjoy it, but it has given me insight as to what is truly necessary to accomplish most installation tasks and has helped me understand not to expect too much or accept too little.

Managed the daily legal and financial affairs of the firm, which was formed to act as the managing parent company for both Ortco Drydocks, Inc. and Ortco Contractors, Inc.
A design build fabrication company servicing the offshore oil and shipbuilding industries, which had filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection in April of 1997. Industries was formed in anticipation of confirmation of an amended re-organization plan that was filed in February of 1999. Unfortunately after a two year struggle in Bankruptcy Court, Ortco Contractors, Inc.s petition was denied at the last minute, due to a change in the Judge residing over the case. Because of the conversion from Chapter 11, to Chapter 7, liquidation was ordered and caused the denial of our interim financing necessary to continue operations as an ongoing concern.

By summer of 1991 Omni-Phase had a staff of 117 electricians and 17 support personnel with revenue in excess of $300,000 per month.
