My objective is to direct others in a collaborative work environment in which our goal is to find effective and efficient ways to reduce costs while not ignoring important codes and standards governed by the NFPA or IBC. In these 30 years in the fire protection business, I have spent much of my career studying and learning the codes, keeping abreast of all changes and new technologies in the fire protection industry. Consequently, I have become a resource for company managers, and designers. This knowledge has also led to consulting outside the company with architects and respective engineers. Currently, I belong to the Design Build Institute of America, because I believe that belonging to the DBIA is an avenue to network with architects and other engineers. This also allows me to stay current in new trends in design build. I am the only member of DBIA who is in the fire protection industry, which gives me a unique position.

First of all, I am a self-starter, and require minimal direction due to my extensive experience in the fire protection field. However, I am a promoter of the team building spirit within my company. Next, I have extensive knowledge of codes and keep current without exception. My 30 years in the fire protection industry has allowed me to reach this point where I am thought of as an expert. I am not stagnant in my goals to learn and continue to improve my knowledge and understanding of the codes. I am currently testing for NICET certification. Moreover, what sets me apart from other project managers is my experience in the field as an installer; thus I am able to provide direction during the estimating stage then through design and installation.
