2008 - 2010
JS CAPITAL, Rochester Hills, MI
Built a full service Holiday Inn from ground up. At a cost of $7.8 million, this project was 80,000 SF and included 73,000 SF of parking.

2008 - 2008
Hired to identify and correct the structural, plumbing, and electrical problems as well as the ADA and code
requirements of a 124 unit Marriot Town Place Suites
(68,000SF extended stay facility) that was behind schedule. I got the project back on schedule.

2007 - 2008
Took over $16 million (148,000 SF) big box multi-use retail center that included Michaels (44,000 SF), Office Max (40,000 SF), retail lease space (29,000 SF), retail and restaurants (20,000 SF), and 3 restaurants (15,000 SF) in Jacksonville, FL. This project was behind schedule and in trouble with the developer. I got it back on schedule and completed on time.

Supervised the new construction of a 1.8 acre (10,000 SF) NTB store in Deer Park, TX. Duties included bringing all utilities to the site including road boar sanitary sewer, power, gas, water, and both 8\' and 12\' lines for future use. Project was completed in 62 days from ground work to move-in.

Closed out a discount store in Garland, TX and a strip center in Hattiesburg, MS.

2005 - 2007
BATTEN & SHAW, INC., Nashville, TN
Project Superintendent-Special Projects Division
Batten & Shaw is a general contractor in the medical field, involved primarily with American Disability Act remediation. Responsibilities included total retrofit of ADA accessibility throughout the hospital to bring it into ADA compliance while permitting the hospital to remain fully operational at all times. Duties required extreme precision of all components, cleanliness, site work, labor management, and scheduling as well as acting as liaison between the contractor, TAS, and hospital engineers.

2003 - 2005
Private consulting and project management for commercial site preparation and construction. Projects included a 200 acre multi-use site in Champaign, IL. Responsibility was that of Project Manager for Site Development. Supervision included the installation of all utilities (including water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer), step-trench excavation, street paving (slip form), shoring, lime stabilization, cement stabilized backfill, and crushed rock bedding. Additional responsibilities involved establishing the schedule and critical path for construction and writing reports for the civil engineer and owner. The project was completed on time and within budget.

Additional projects included a $900,000 renovation of an eight story office building for First Baptist Church of Bellaire in Bellaire, TX. Responsibility was that of Project Manager and Superintendent. Supervision included the total demo and retrofit for the church and its needs as well as buildout for commercial lease space.

2002 - 2003
Project Superintendent
Project superintendent for Awty International Lower School, a $4 million retrofit of two existing structures totaling 42,000 SF and located in Houston, TX. Due to the age of the buildings with their unknown conditions and lack of square in many areas, this retrofit was extremely complicated. It involved massive removal of concrete and detailed supervision of new construction. Established a good working relationship with the representatives of the school and their architect. The project was completed on time and within budget.

1998 - 2002
Senior Superintendent/On-Site Project Manager
Projects included a $7 million (70,600 SF) new construction for First Baptist Church of Pearland, TX that included site work for 42 acres of multi-use development.

Other projects included a $6.5 million (78,000 SF) addition to Metropolitan Baptist Church in Houston, TX that tied the 3 story class A composite steel new construction to the existing worship center and connected the buildings at four levels. Construction involved intricately connected walkways and a 23\' high skylight in the shape of a cross that could be seen at night from 30,000 feet.

Additional projects requiring supervision by a senior superintendent and totaling $13.5 million included a Town Place Suites by Marriott in College Station, TX, a Town Place Suites by Marriott in Clear Lake, TX, a 30,000 SF new city jail in Pecos, TX, and the County Sheriff Extension Office Complex in Zapata, TX. All required site work, installation of utilities, and foundation work including structural steel and tile wall panels.

1993 - 1998
Construction Manager/Superintendent
Supervised the construction of Covenant Church, an $8 million complex in Carrolton, TX. This project was a 25 acre development that included the installation of all utilities, a retention lake, dirt work, paving and parking, foundation and slab work.
Other projects included a $1.1 million expansion of a 25,200 SF educational building for Oakwood Baptist Church in New Braunfels, TX, and the expansion and renovation of First Baptist Church of Salado, TX.

Duties for these projects included the scheduling and overseeing of site work, site utility, and site paving along with the supervision of all subcontractors and vendors. Responsibilities also involved interplay with city officials, city services, and church committee members during the construction and long range planning for future growth.

1983 - 1993
During this time, worked where needed in different capacities for SPAW/GLASS and/or its two wholly owned subsidiaries, CAHABA and J.G. GONZALES, INC.

Project included the renovation, construction of additions, and code updating to the Radiation-Oncology Department of Park Plaza Hospital, Houston, Texas. Additional renovation was done to patient rooms, the X-Ray department, the air conditioning and chilled water system along with the electrical and sanitary systems. Duties included layout and installation of a Linear Accelerator and Simulator requiring very accurate and precise installation. Other responsibilities involved scheduling and overseeing all activities of subcontractors while allowing full functional operation of all hospital facilities, budgeting, scheduling, and working with the architect in developing other hospital renovation projects requiring accurate estimating and cost projections.

Superintendent/ Business Development Director
As Construction Superintendent, was fully responsible for several major multi-family projects as well as functioning as Warranty Supervisor for the company. As Business Development Director, called on developers, owners, and architects to solicit bidding opportunities and establish arelationship with Cahaba and/or Spaw/Glass.

Project Manager
As project manager, oversaw lease build out and tenant finish in office projects totaling over 275,000 square feet.
