Kenn Werstiuk General Construction. 1988 to Present. Licensed as a General Contractor in California and sole proprietor of a construction remodeling business, residential and commercial, I am involved in all aspects of the business from following leads to estimating and bidding, contract writing, procurement of permits, supervision and management, client relationship to completion of project. I provide Management and Consultant services to Owners, Architectures, Decorators, Investors and Contractors.

oPhase 1 expansion. I was brought in to start the wood framing and to provide structural and seismic advice and plan interpretation. Solved how to add the structural elements after the common walls were up. Building Inspector complimented on it, mentioning that its was the most complete and thorough framing he had seen and that we knew what they were doing. Advised and assisted in all phases and all aspects of the project.

o Rock-n-Fish at L.A.Live, Downtown Los Angles, CA (www.rocknfishlalive.com) Brought in as a construction advisor/trades supervisor to assist the owner, contractor and superintendent in fast tracking the construction to meet an accelerated schedule by recognizing and solving problems early, advising trades and craftsmen to more efficient procedures, co-ordination between multiply trades and crafts to maximize site flow and maintaining all safety standards and procedures.
oSashi Sushi and Sake Lounge, Manhattan Beach, CA (www.sashimb.com) Remodel of a defunct food establishment from a Deli to a Sushi Bar with a Lounge. .As Contractor of record. Responsible for procurement of all necessary permits and related documentations involved as necessary by the City. Extensive interaction and communication, written and oral, with city officials of numerous departments as well as design group involved in the project. Substantially reduced budget requirements for exotic wood design features by substituting and faux finishing a more cost effective material and establishing an on-site millworks production process to achieve it. Met all critical time line events as scheduled, such as investor parties, media previews, staff training ,etc. and secured all necessary permits, permissions and evaluations from the different city agencies and emergency services as well as obtaining a temporary certificate of occupancy while waiting for signed finals from various agencies.
oKAA Design Group, Los Angles, Ca. (Sashi Sushi) (www.kaadesigngroup.com/portfolio/architecture/commercial/2-commercial/971-sashi-sushi--sake-lounge) Extensive research to Assist and advice design group in material selection, substitution, application and installation to achieve the desired design element as envisioned. Communicated written and orally with manufacturers and suppliers for material data and availability of products.
oCaf Was, Hollywood, Ca (www.cafewas.com) As Contractor of record, I obtained all the necessary permits as required. Project was in a ground floor retail plaza with a residential high rise unit above. Implemented construction procedures that minimally impacted retail neighbors and residents above as well as providing a clear route for emergency services. Assisted designers in locating and procuring design elements and instructing them in the various ways of achieving their design goals while still remaining with in budget and on schedule. Provided Architects, Engineers and sub contractors with solutions and options to mechanical and design obstacles to prevent cost over runs and to provide to building officials the necessary code compliance needed. Established an on site millwork and finish program that was cost effective and efficient. Obtained all the necessary agency finals for completion and opening of project.
oAkasha Restaurant and Bakery, Culver City, CA (www.akasharestaurant.com) Brought in mid way of construction to assist in interior finishes and finish millwork. Implemented fabrication and assembly processes of various design elements to maintain desired purpose and reduce budget requirements..

Custom design, fabrication and installation of numerous features/ components utilizing various materials and substrates in typical and untypical applications to achieve desired performance and/or appearance. Provided training to residential owners as well as existing personnel of commercial/business customers the correct and safe procedures of maintaining and preventative maintenance procedures of existing equipment and facilities/structure as well as being available to assist with inspection and trouble shooting/on a as needed basis.
