- I have many years of experience with management and operation of facilities that manufacture and install modular structures of wood, metals and plastics. The majority has been custom manufacturing and construction of an architectural and artistic nature, from small to large.
-I am a very hands-on manager, having worked my way up through, welding and woodworking. I pride myself on getting projects done on-time and on budget. I strive to make every one feel like an integral part of the process.
-I also have skills with Microsoft office programs and to lesser extent with CAD and Photoshop.
-I strive to be organized with everything in its place.
-I enjoy projects with some challenge or difficulty that most would shy away from.
-My educational background is in the arts. I have pursued painting and sculpture on the side along the way.
Employment Highlights:
-I have held production/project management postions with several companies engaged in the construction of scenery and back stage equipment. One of these I did every spring for many years. In these roles I delt with payroll, logistics, estimation, budgeting, scheduling, purchasing, costing, supervising, warehousing and more.
-I have worked as a technical director on many occasions for shows and visual art installation. One of which was a multi year
recurring situation as special projects coordinator at a large festival. In these positions I delt mostly with nontraditional
performance spaces and outdoor shows. These often involed, technical design, logisticts, sceduling, installation supervision, warehousing, and a direction of small fleet of company trucks.
-I have worked as a carpenter, gang boss, assistant construction coordinator and construction coordinator on a number of films.
Beyond welding and fine woodwrking, these experiences have given me some insight into the big corporate world as well as
adding to my practice with estimating budgeting and other supervisory skills.
- For many years I have held my own buisiness, Fisher Fabrications, to help fill in between shows. In this
capacity I have delt with the details of company ownership. This also allowed me to pursure some other interests.
Fisher Fabrications has built many different and varied products for the stage and displays and has delved into; custom furniture,
custom motorcycles, offroad truck parts, custom golf cars, custom cars, boatbuilding, and construction for experiential marketing.
-I have worked as a freelance stage hand, stage carpenter and props and display technichian since 1983. In this role I have
experince with carpentry, welding, rigging and vairied methods of construction. This has also allowed me to travel all over the
country and to Europe.
