Job Description:	Job Description: Responsible for the direction and performance of field as well as office engineering on tunnel projects in the South and Southeast United States to ensure the work is planned and performed in conformance with the project objectives and requirements. Principal areas of responsibility are safety, cost and schedule engineering, submittal development, productivity, quality control, material control, and field-based procurement. A successful candidate will be able to manage, monitor, and control the engineering effort and its functions from commencement of the preparation phase through completion of the construction on projects in excess of 60 million dollars. He or she must have strong communication skills and have the ability to identify the project requirements as well as communicate those requirements to the project team. Additionally, the candidate must have strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, and must be able to work independently, as well as, within a team. Duties & Responsibilities include: Development of engineering submittals. Interface with Owner’s personnel. Implement and maintain effective management, planning, and cost control systems using Primavera Project Planner, Primavera Contractor, AutoCad 2007 (or later), Heavy Job and related software titles. Advise Project Manager of developments that may affect project profit, costs, schedules, and client relations. Develop and/or review construction operation plans. Work with the field supervisors, labor personnel, and subcontractor personnel during construction operations including tunnel excavation and cast-in-place concrete operations. Aide in the tracking of changes and assembly of change orders proposals. Provide support and guidance for the personal and professional development of project personnel. Establish and maintain communications with the Owner to ensure accurate and timely flow of information. Basic Qualifications: 4 years Construction experience, tunnel construction and heavy concrete experience is a plus. Education: BSCE Degree preferable, degrees in construction management or similar will be considered.
