Job Description:	To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned: - Bids jobs. Prepares complete take-off, material pricing and labor during the bid process and ensures the scope of work is accurately interpreted. Reviews final estimate packages for accuracy/completeness and advises Estimating Manager, PM and SR PM of the estimate. Reviews specifications and project plans/drawings. Attends pre-bid meetings. Prepares required bid documentation. Provides necessary follow-up on awarded jobs with regard to extra work items, change orders, and credits. Properly retains all documents and data in support of prepared estimates. - Technical Knowledge. Must make continuous efforts to keep abreast of technological advances in the industry. This includes value-engineering concepts during the take-off phase. Provides technical assistance in negotiating contracts and change orders. - Customer Service. Serves as the Company representative when dealing with the owners, general contractors, vendors and internal customers. - Profit Management. Understands and applies procedures to increase or maintain profit levels established by management. - Communications. Can clearly articulate concepts and directions, both orally and in writing. - Follows Company Policy. Adheres to all Company policies and procedures. - Team Player. Helps, supports and communicates with all Company employees. Maintains a positive attitude and “sells” the Company at every opportunity. Qualification Requirements: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform this job successfully. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. - Education and/or Experience. Degree in engineering, building construction or field experience with at least some hands on experience. Experience is preferred in environmental contracting/engineering. - Language Skills. Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents - including blue prints. Ability to write, plan, coordinate and make presentations to individuals and groups using innovative techniques. - Mathematical Skills. Ability to work with mathematical concepts. - Reasoning Ability. Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of problems. Ability to define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and make sound recommendations. - Technical Ability. Strong technical aptitude, detail-minded with strong organization skills. - Automation Skills. Must have Windows-based computer proficiency and be knowledgeable in the use of QuickPen (or other computerized estimating program) as well as MS Office (Excel and Word).
