Facility Maintenance Electrician on the JRDC program at Schriever AFB, CO.

Complete Description:
Performs a variety of electrical functions such as installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment/systems supporting the distribution or utilization of electric energy. Specifically, work involves the following: designing, building, installing or repairing a variety of electrical equipment, to include transformers, switchboards, Power Distribution Unit (PDU), Power Monitoring Systems, controllers, circuit breakers, power panels, motors, heating units, conduit/raceway conveyances, or other transmission equipment. Locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment. Use of portable electrical monitoring devices (e.g. Fluke 1750) and working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment. Working from schematics, blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications. Use of a variety of hand tools, including power tools, and measuring and testing instruments. Performing studies, developing reports with Microsoft Office software and using PDA devices. In general, the work of the maintenance electrician requires well rounded background typically obtained through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent education and experience. Electrician will work on other building systems to include, but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, sheet metal, carpentry, etc.

Minimum Requirements:
Journeyman electrician that is trained and can demonstrate the ability to perform the tasks identified above with a minimum of 2 years of experience. Basic computer skills using Microsoft Word and Excel. Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance. Electrician must be available to work night and weekends, 12 hour shifts and other non-standard hours as required without medical restrictions. Preferred Requirements: Active journeyman electrician license is desired. Working knowledge of Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) and Fire Detection system. Previous experience with the MDIOC environment is helpful but not required. Experience: 2 years Education: Associates Security: Secret Security Clearance Required.
