Job Description: Responsibilities :
This position will be responsible for developing detailed cost proposals associated with remediation, civil work, and facilities horizontal construction, especially in the area of building construction. Will be responsible for development of detailed cost proposals associated with Task Orders issued by existing clients. This will include attendance at pre-bid meetings and/or site visits; thorough review of RFP documents; detailed quantity take-offs; sourcing material, equipment, and subcontractor quotes; development of detailed cost including crew and equipment selection and determination of production rates; development of preliminary construction schedule in Primavera P6 or MicroSoft Project.
Experience : Minimum Work Experience Requirements: A minimum of 8 years working in the capacity of a Lead Estimator on similar types of projects required with a minimum of 2 years as a project manager in the areas of construction remediation and horizontal civil construction. Experience in the use of HCSS Heavy Bid desired. Must be skilled in the development of project schedules through detailed knowledge of Primavera software. Knowledge of Microsoft Project software also desirable. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and extremely proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel. Must be willing to travel as required to efficiently perform the functions of the position. Must be able to understand, and provide an evaluation of, drawings, specifications, and deliverables requirements. Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment, and coordinate resources, supervise staff (if necessary), and be client focused. Must have a working knowledge of construction equipment capabilities, production rates, etc. as required for equipment selection in development of cost proposals.
Education Requirements : Minimum Education & Training Requirements: B.S. in Civil Engineering, or Construction Management, or related field desirable. Must have experience/training in the areas of scheduling and Cost Estimating software as related to Building Construction highly desired.
Other Requirements : Minimum Physical Requirements: Must have the physical ability to travel (pre-bid meetings, site visits/walks, etc.). Candidates must successfully pass standard CAPE pre-employment medical, drug and background screens, and have the ability to use safety equipment as required.
