Job Description: The Technical Services Construction Specialist reports directly to the Vice President of the Integrated Technical Services Group and is primarily responsible for providing specialized technical assistance to design professionals, specialty contractors and the Commercial Sealants and Waterproofing sales organization as it relates to the proper use of Tremco Sealant and Waterproofing Division products and systems in the design and construction of weather resistant / energy efficient building envelopes.

Duties/Responsibilities, Core knowledge:

� Must have a strong familiarity with commercial construction job sites and proper jobsite protocol.

� Must be willing to travel as required to acquire product knowledge and support the technical needs of the division. Travel will be predominantly in the USA and Canada.

� Must have a strong understanding of the fundamentals of commercial construction project sequencing.

� Must be able to read and interpret blue prints.

� Must be proficient in the preparation of computeraided drawings (CAD) using AutoCAD, BIM and BIM compatible software.

� Should be familiar with the challenges associated with sequence of installation (interface between various trades), especially at points of connectivity between substrates, where our products and systems are typically utilized.

� Must possess strong problem solving skills and the ability to think three dimensionally in order to properly interpret jobsite application challenges, terminations and transitional detailing.

� Must be able to conceive, design and perform product and system certifications through internal evaluation and laboratory (industry standard and proprietary test methods) testing.

� Should possess the knowledge or ability to quickly learn the theories of mold mitigation and apply them to effective fa�ade design as it relates to our products.

� Should possess the knowledge or ability to quickly learn the theories of thermal/energy efficiency and apply them to effective fa�ade design as it relates to our products.

� Should be familiar with the basic types of wall design commonly utilized in the commercial construction sector in both the USA and Canada.

� Must quickly acquire the knowledge required to respond to technical inquiries received via telephone, email, web site, fax and mail/courier from the sales force and customers regarding the full range of Commercial Sealants and Waterproofing products.

� Must be able to communicate technical concepts proficiently on both the phone and in written form related to product usage, competitive product analysis, product specifications, product repairs and problems, etc.

� Must be comfortable communicating technical concepts to audiences via webinars or in live presentations.

� Effectively collaborate with crossfunctional teams.

� Expected to actively participate in PIP, BPE and/or BEST, serving as a team leader or team member as required. Teams can focus on a number of different issues such as complaints, internal processes, product innovation, product development or product/system connectivity challenges.

� Responsible as assigned for product complaint processing from the evaluation of samples to coordinating manufacturing changes and documenting the changes along with a oneyear review of effectiveness. This will include working successfully with people with other departments such as manufacturing, marketing and R & D to ensure a proper resolution to the complaint including preparation and distribution of a report with summaries and conclusions.

� Periodically review and update product literature like data sheets, application instructions, application videos and crossreference charts.

� Periodically write new product information literature including technical services bulletins, data sheets, application instructions, usage guides, etc.

� Coordinate requests for material review by the Analytical Lab and report back with written and/or verbal instructions.

� Conduct lab research projects on Tremco and competitive products on request.

� Submit written and/or verbal reports of all laboratory work, field/site visits, attendance at industry association meetings and industry events including summaries and conclusions as required.

� Maintain a clean, safe and professional lab environment and lab project notebooks.

� Assist in the training and development of new sales representatives and customers.

� Operation of equipment integral to the use, mixing and application of Tremco products

� Operation of saws, drills and assorted hand tools.

� Conduct periodic laboratory inspections in accordance with set process and procedures.

� Maintain inventory of testing supplies in the lab to ensure adequate material is on hand for general testing purposes.

� Represent Tremco at various industry associations, trade shows and events.



� Bachelor�s degree from a fouryear college or university. Construction engineering, building science, construction mgmnt, architecture or building construction technology preferred

� 5 10years practical, infield exp

� Familiarity with construction sequencing & trade interface preferred

� Development & use of visual aides including Microsoft Office formats & CAD

� Ability to work in Microsoft Office & SAP

� Knowledge of use, care, spill & disposal of chemicals

� Knowledge of construction site safety requirements & protocol

� Familiarity with governing VOC & LEED initiatives

� Secondary language skills a plus (Spanish / French)

� Ability to manage time & priorities effectively

� Effective selfmotivated team player

� Problem solving skills / solutions oriented approach

� Effective organizational skills

� Have an excellent command of the English language & be able to clearly articulate ideas & situations
