  Maintenance Technician

Employer:
Eggrock LLC
Job Location: Littleton , MA
Cash Compensation:
Industry Type: Building Products - Equipment
Job Description: Description
Eggrock is a rapidly expanding company that is revolutionizing hotel, hospital, and military barracks
construction in the US and Canada. We are looking for a maintenance technician to take the hands-on role in
supporting our production lines as well as facility/infrastructure requirements.
Eggrock designs and manufactures, in a Lean Manufacturing culture, completely modular, fully-finished
bathrooms for clients in the hotel and multi-unit residential markets. These bathrooms streamline the
construction process and improve the quality of workmanship. With sales expected to increase by at least
200% over the next year, this position has plenty of room to grow for the right person.
As an integral part of the manufacturing team, the maintenance technician’s primary role is to support the
production team by fabricating tooling, fixtures, product assembly components, performing equipment
installation and set-up, and other related duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
The work environment is that of a small company where everyone wears multiple hats in a high energy, highly
stimulating environment. As a maintenance technician, you will be expected to be very hands on, responsible
for supporting the production lines and working closely with our engineering team to solve problems on the
manufacturing floor, try out new product ideas via prototyping and work cross-functionally with the entire
manufacturing team. You will be able to troubleshoot equipment issues and make basic tooling and equipment
recommendations.
You should be a personable, outgoing, hands-on problem solver with maintenance experience, both production
as well as facilities, in a low to medium volume manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have
experience with Lean Manufacturing. You should be comfortable with basic Lean Manufacturing concepts
such as 5S/Workplace Organization, visual controls, mistake proofing (poke-yoke) and Just-In-Time production
concepts.
Requirements/Qualifications
- 5-7 years experience hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing/production environment,
preferably a Lean Manufacturing culture;
- Experience with welding/brazing/soldering;
- Expertise with hand tools, power tools, gages/measurement devices;
- Forklift/powered equipment certification is a plus;
- Knowledge of building construction techniques such as structural, plumbing, and/or electrical systems is a
plus;
- Able to lift 50 pounds, and comfortable working at heights above 10 feet.
- Local Candidate only; no relocation
Compensation
The hourly rate for this position will be $16 - $19/hr, based on experience. Eggrock also provides an
exceptional benefits package for our employees, including medical, dental, paid holidays/vacation, and
opportunities for career growth.
Company Description: It is difficult, if not impossible, to site-build high quality bathrooms for multi-unit residential construction. Chronic shortages of skilled labor, varying site conditions, and inconsistent workmanship create a “perfect storm” for general contractors and developers.

Using Eggrock pre-built bathrooms is a smarter, simpler, and better way to build. Eggrock bathrooms are built in a controlled factory, and shipped to the construction site fully equipped per your design or brand standards. After just two hours of hoisting and hook-up time, you’re done – no delays, no punch list, no rework.

Some of America’s best-known hotel companies and developers are turning to Eggrock to build with dramatically higher quality, faster, and more economically than conventional construction.

Company Background
Eggrock’s founder, Jeff Barrett, spent 18 years in the aerospace and medical device industries in both engineering and senior management roles before establishing Eggrock with a small group of investors in 2004. The premise behind Eggrock was to bring the engineering and manufacturing disciplines of those industries to the construction process. The company was founded with the belief that better construction doesn’t have to be more expensive. Jeff started in a one-room office and took time to benchmark modular construction companies both in the US and overseas. Over time Eggrock has added a dedicated team of engineers, technicians, craftspeople, and manufacturing associates that share a passion for innovation and for building high quality products.

The Construction Business
The construction industry has a unique set of problems that are converging to create a cost crisis. First, there is a chronic shortage of skilled labor that continues to grow worse. The average construction worker is now 47 years old and the 200,000 new trades people required to fill the void has little chance of being met. The cost of construction already exceeds the inflation rate, while the population continues to grow and change demographics that require new and more innovative buildings.

The Eggrock Team
One unique aspect of the Eggrock team is that it brings together experiences from industries outside of traditional construction including: yacht building, software development, medical instruments, theatre set construction, and injection molding. We believe that a diverse technical and management team will foster rapid innovation within our construction specialty.

What’s an Eggrock?
The name “Eggrock” symbolizes the confluence of architecture and manufacturing technology, reflecting the company’s approach to improving construction by treating the building itself as a product. Eggrock believes the future of construction lies in the assembly of precision-engineered components rather than the traditional stick by stick approach.
