Job Description:	JOB SUMMARY: The Survey Manager manages day-to-day operations of the Survey Department, plans and coordinates the various phases of the field work and exercises administrative and technical supervision over assigned staff and subcontractors. Manage all aspects of the survey portion of a project from the development of project scope, budgets and schedules to the execution of field surveys including line location, centerline and as-built survey. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Identification of benchmarks, monuments, centerlines and other reference points that is necessary for correct installation and/or construction oversight. 2. Assistance in the review and proper interpretation of construction plans and drawings. 3. Final checking of all produced layouts to insure proper relationship to references given, both by survey and by technical drawings. 4. Performs administrative functions, such as completing time sheets and vehicle mileage reports, maintaining expense accounts, and documenting subsequent expenditures. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Associate degree in surveying or civil technology plus four years experience or eight years of qualified surveying experience in lieu of degree; or a comparable combination of education and experience will be considered. COMPUTER OPERATIONS: Experience should reflect the use of Terramodel 3D Roading, as well as an add-on civil design software package such as Trimble Data transfer software, Trimble Geomatics office (TGO). EQUIPMENT: Experience should reflect the knowledge and use of Trimble Robotic instruments, and GPS. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources. 2. Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals. 3. Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill. 4. Perform other duties as assigned. ATTRIBUTES: 1. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: WORKING CONDITIONS: • Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation. • Some exposure to outdoors with changing weather conditions (for instance, rain, sun, snow, wind, etc.) PHYSICAL ACTIVITY LEVEL • Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature.
