Job Description:	Position Summary: This position is responsible for the installation & maintenance of substation & distribution equipment. This position is required to be on standby and work irregular hours. Position Responsibilities: • Install & maintain substation & distribution equipment. Substation facilities & distribution equipment are installed & maintained in a cost-effective manner in compliance with the annual substation standards. • Clean up, handle & store hazardous materials. No local, state or federal violations occur as a result of improper cleanup, handling & storing of hazardous materials. Proper work procedures are followed to comply with the local, state & federal regulations. • Respond to after-hours work needs & assist with coordinating the emergency repair of the electric system. Respond within the established timeframe to consumer & electric system needs & restore service in a timely manner, following an outage. • Complete all work in conformance with the LCEC accident prevention rules. No accidents as a result of failure to comply with the Accident Prevention Rules manual. • Maintain effective working relationships with employees & customers at all levels within LCEC. Ensure smooth operations, productive communications, and effective understanding during all interpersonal contacts. Provide current and accurate information to all requesters, courteously and in a timely manner. Required Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Completion of a four (4) year’ apprentice program as a Substation Electrician. • Valid Florida Commercial Driver’s license (CDL – Class A), or must obtain within 30 days. Desired Qualifications: • Familiarity with personal computer and e-mail.
