Job Description: Basic Purpose of Job:

This position is responsible for the entire operation of the Commercial Motor Vehicle - Department of Transportation (DOT) Compliance Program for Union Pacific. This includes the training, review, development and quality assurance of all aspects of the program. This program is the key monitoring process to ensure the company is in compliance with all Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations and rules.
Accountabilities:

*

Maintain advanced and up-to-date knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and DOT regulations

*

Perform spot audits of drivers and vehicles (emulating Roadside Inspections)

*

Oversee outsourced monitoring processes (Hours of Service, Vehicle Maintenance, Inspections)

*

Maintain and improve the UP DOT website and the electronic DVMS system which interfaces with PeopleSoft and Medical records

*

Matrix oversight/compliance for approximately 5,000 DOT drivers

*

Provide consistency and uniformity across all departments with regard to the DOT Compliance Program
