CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT: Incumbent must be able to acquire and maintain a Texas Motor Vehicle Operator's License. The incumbent stands, walks, and bends while performing the work. Considerable physical effort is expended while using a pickax or air hammer to remove damaged pavement. The incumbent frequently lifts up to 90 pounds in carrying bricks, block, stone, mortar, cement and sand. The incumbent works outside in all kinds of weather. Is exposed to dust and dirt while working with asphalt, sand, and other materials. Subject to cuts and bruises.
Company Description:	Army Contracting Command Soldiers, civilians and contractors support the warfighter worldwide, through the acquisition of goods and services vital to the Soldier's mission and well-being. As the Army's business conduit, ACC offers the contracting expertise of some of the best trained people in the Army, ready to support the warfighter while ensuring responsible stewardship of taxpayers' funds. ACC ensures contracting support to the warfighter as mission requirements emerge and as the Army transforms and moves within the Continental United States and throughout the globe. In 2007 the Secretary of the Army formed an independent commission on Army Acquisition and Program Management in Expeditionary Operations, also known as the Gansler Commission, to review recent lessons learned and recommend ways to improve future military operations. In compliance with these recommendations, on October 1, 2008, the Army recognized the formal establishment of the Army Contracting Command (ACC) as a major subordinate command of the U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC). This new, one-of-a-kind Army organization performs the majority of contracting work for the U.S. Army, and consists of two subordinate commands responsible for installation and expeditionary contracting, and other Army contracting elements. History Links Historian page Our Organizational Structure An ACC subordinate command, the U.S. Army Expeditionary Contracting Command (ECC), provides effective and responsive contracting support to Army and other federal organizations at installations outside the Continental United States, and provides effective and agile expeditionary contracting during military operations for Army service component commands and the Joint warfighter. ECC's seven contracting support brigades (modular commands) will provide direct support to Army service component commanders, to include: U.S. Forces Korea / 8th U.S. Army; U.S. Army, Europe / 7th U.S. Army; U.S. Army, South / 5th U.S. Army; U.S. Army Central Command / 3rd U.S. Army; U.S. Army, Pacific; U.S. Army, Africa; and Continental United States expeditionary contracting missions. ECC contracting personnel support U.S. Army Installation Management Command installations outside the Continental United States. To ensure the most optimal structure for effective and responsive contracting support worldwide for the Army and other federal agencies to meet warfighter needs, including installation operations, the Army Contracting Agency was realigned under AMC. With this realignment, Army Contracting Agency missions and functions were transitioned to form the basis for the Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) under ACC. MICC contracting activities include six contracting centers and 36 directorates of contracting (DOCs) within the Continental United States. The Contracting Centers and DOCs provide U.S. Army Installation Management Command, U.S. Army Forces Command and the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command with contracting support for base operations, power projection, schools and training centers, the National Training Center, the Joint Readiness Training Center, and various other tenant missions. Focused on Army weapons programs and systems, AMC's Life Cycle Management Commands feature an integrated acquisition, logistics and technology environment for optimal Army readiness, modernization and sustainment. ACC provides policy, procedures, career guidance and support to the contracting centers dedicated to the AMC Life Cycle Management Commands and Program Executive Office/Program Manager missions. ACC's National Capitol Region incorporates the Army's Contracting Center of Excellence (CCE) and the U.S. Army Information Technology, E-Commerce and Commercial Contracting Center (ITEC4). CCE provides contracting support to the Army Secretariat and the Army Staff. ITEC4 provides worldwide information technology contracting support and procures enterprise information technology support and equipment for Army and DoD activities.
