Job Description:	Job Description: Regional engineering and surveying firm seeks experienced Party Chief for the Land Surveying department in their Riverside, Connecticut office. Candidate will be working on residential and commercial projects in and around the Tri-State area. Qualified candidates should be familiar with data collectors, total stations, and GPS units. At least 5 years experience supervising survey crews is required. Essential functions: Lead a field crew engaged in the marking and reconnaissance of survey control, traverse control, subdivision monumentation and boundary lines and corners. Able to evaluate horizontal and vertical control evidence, parcel maps and final maps filed with Town, County, and State; review work for accuracy and conformity to accepted land surveying practices. Confer with manager and project team on matters affecting mapping, land boundary determinations, legal access, real property rights, perpetuation of survey monuments and other survey projects. Analyze land, cadastral, geodetic surveys, and right of way surveying. Skills / Requirements: Physical: Majority of day is walking, standing, bending, and squatting; requires fine manipulation in both hands. Continuously reaches above and below the shoulder level. Occasionally works near equipment and machinery on rough, uneven, rocky, or slippery surfaces. Occasionally exposed to dust, gas, toxic materials, noise, and extremes in temperature and humidity. A valid New York driver’s license is required at time of appointment. A valid CT Drivers License (or other US) is required. Pre-employment background and drug test is required.
