Job Description:	JOB SUMMARY: Reviews bid requests and prepares bids for clients to enable Thompson Construction Group to gain the work; to enable Thompson to become the recognized leader in both safety and quality of all contractors in the Southeast. JOB DUTIES: Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services, applying knowledge of specialized methodologies, techniques, principles, or processes. Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements and prepares itemized lists. Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes, such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness. Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions. Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. Qualifications: * Must have 4 year degree in engineering or construction management degree or equivalent and experience * Must have superior computer skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) * Excellant written and oral communication skills * Self-directed with strong organizational skills, attention to details * Strong math and analytical skills in regard to cost and pricing * Ability to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines * Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships * Experienced with Primavera and Timberline estimating software * 5-7 years minimum experience estimating mechanical piping projects. Experience with civil, structural steel projects extremely helpful. * Previous work in steel, pharmaceutical and energy business sectors a plus Special Requirements: * Willing to work overtime as required to meet bid deadlines Additional Requirements: Must be willing to relocate to Charleston, S.C. area.
