Job Description: Under general direction of Director of Construction, the incumbent will perform advanced construction project duties in the development and management of LMU construction projects.

1.Work closely with the Director of Construction and Project Manager(s) to ensure administrative, contractual, financial, and technical aspects of the project are being executed through accurate quantity surveys; review drawings and specifications; create, review, and maintain, various schedules, bids, budgets, logs, reports, and interaction with other FM staff.

2.Develop estimates using current industry cost data; assist with the development of budget, cash flow chart, and update of expenditures and budget revisions. Monitor contractor schedule and production rates; perform time and motion studies.

3.Work closely with FM Planning & Design.

4.Work closely with FM Procurement & Contracts in bid process.

5.Work closely with the Project Manager.

6.Attend project meetings; job walks.

7.Process Project Close Out packages.

8.Facilitate Post Construction Review of planning & design, contractor performance, vendors/suppliers, inter-departmental/client, & Facilities Management. Produce final report.

9.Represent LMU within the community and at professional organizations or associations, serve on committees as required.
Experience: Minimum 5 years experience in project management experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of construction, facilities maintenance, equipment, services. Principles and practices related to higher education preferred. Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of City and State building codes is essential. Knowledge and ability to read blueprints. Skilled in the use of equipment and techniques required to perform the duties described.

Ability to apply principles of construction management; prioritize, organize, and complete specialized project work within limited time frames; use good judgment. Apply a complete and proficient understanding of LMU's procedures, methodologies, philosophies, and systems.

Apply a complete and proficient understanding of construction management, engineering, safety, scheduling, estimating, budgets, costing, and procurement. Maintain International Organization for Standardization (ISO) management quality on all aspects of project.

Ability to stay current on construction regulation/policies, techniques and technology, and ISO Quality System through continued education and industry affiliation.

Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral) evidenced by background in preparing comprehensive reports and executive summaries incorporating complex, highly technical information

Highly developed organizational and leadership skills

Demonstrated computer competency. Proficiency in construction related software; costing/estimating software; Microsoft Office (including MS Project).
Required Education: Typically a Bachelors degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, business management, or related field.
