Job Description:	Responsibilities Under direct or general supervision, responsible for general and specific assignments involving complex and extensive types of plans, investigations, ECS design, implementation, ECS communication equipment and parameters and operating problem resolution. Employing intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices and devising new approaches to problems encountered, plans, schedules and coordinates detailed phases of major projects such as equipment design and development, materials tests, preparation of specifications, applications studies, analyses of system or process troubles, research investigations, system planning analysis. Develops and directs concepts for a variety of projects and activities and represents the organization in conferences, subcommittees and user groups to resolve important technical problems. Responsibilities include overseeing functions and performance of ECS operations and computer system personnel. Insures proper and efficient operation of all ECS computer operations. Offers input and assistance to Manager of Transmission Operation and fulfills other responsibilities as directed. Qualifications • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or other related discipline from an accredited college/university is required. • Ten to fifteen (10 – 15) years of progressively responsible engineering-related experience in an electric utility is required. • Must have strong verifiable design experience. • Professional Engineer’s registration or Professional Engineering License preferred. • Experience in project management with demonstrated ability to lead and work in a team environment. • Strong communicator both oral and written with highly developed inter-personal, training and computer skills. • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others, direct and set expectations for meeting project performance and budgetary goals and assist with representing IPL on committees and task forces.
