A rapidly growing renewable energy company seeks a skilled electrician/​tradesman for the installation and maintenance of renewable energy systems (primarily solar).​ Candidate must be a quick learner of new technologies, have demonstrated experience working with electronics.​ Experience with solar photovoltaics (PV), NEC Section 690, inverter/​DAS troubleshooting, and knowledge of electrical distribution systems is preferred.​

Primary Responsibilities:

v Installation of solar photovoltaics systems;

v Diagnose electrical problems by studying diagrams, manuals, and specifications; troubleshooting systems; conducting tests;

v Carry out service contracts on PV systems, including inverter maintenance, kWh meter calibration, open-circuit voltage and/​or amperage testing of module strings, general preventative maintenance, and generation of inspection reports;

v Maintain safe work environment by following safety standards and procedures; complying with codes;
v Stay current on codes, standards, new solar technologies, installation best practices and support other construction personnel, as well as members of engineering team as an “expert” on field installation aspects of PV systems.​

In this role, the successful candidate will also plan and schedule work and keep records of the materials used and the progress made on a job, and will be responsible for reporting on such things as personnel, costs, and safety.​


Desired Qualifications:

v Demonstrated capabilities and experience with Electronics Troubleshooting, Problem Solving, Project Planning, Equipment Maintenance, Basic Safety, Supply Management, Technical Understanding, Attention to Detail, Quality Focus, Thoroughness, and Customer Service

v Electrical License in the State of New Jersey is an added plus.​

v Experience on commercial/​industrial construction projects;

v OSHA training

v Highly organized and detail oriented.​ Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and manage time and resources effectively, contributing to multiple projects within the firm;

v Strong understanding of the NEC and UBC and other related codes and standards;

v Strong working knowledge of blueprints, plans, and electrical line drawings;

v This position occasionally requires access to sensitive government facilities and therefore requires a clean background check (no felonies), a clean DMV record, and a clean drug-test.​

v Position will require travel to project sites (mostly within the tri-State area) Employee should have his/​her own vehicle.​

Compensation:

Salary will be based on experience, comprised of a base salary and a bonus.​ Pfister offers full medical/​dental plan, 401k, paid holidays, vacation days, and sick days.​
