Job Description:	University Facilities & Student Housing (UFSH) is filling the position of Assistant Vice President, Planning & Project Management. The significant risk associated with capital projects requires close monitoring and integration to ensure successful project completion, one that satisfies the users, is delivered as scheduled, with all standards and requirements met, and is within the approved budget. The AVP will hold first-line responsibility to assure appropriate communication, planning, budgeting, scheduling and management of each project, ensuring integration of all component parts and people. Reporting to the Vice President for UFSH and serving as a member of the VP's senior staff, the AVP's general responsibilities will include: developing and implementing an organizational structure and process for efficient and effective planning, management and delivery of projects; supervising project support functions; overseeing development, prioritizing, sequencing and updating of master capital plan and consequential cost estimates; effectively managing project planning, design, construction and close out; overseeing the development, prioritization, sequencing, costing and implementation of the deferred maintenance program. Requirements include: * A Bachelors degree in engineering or architecture; a Masters degree in engineering, architecture or business related field is desirable. * PMP certification or a willingness to complete; experience in a Project Management Office is desired. * A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in managing people involved in the design and management of construction projects. * A high level of interpersonal and communication skills. * Must be skilled in use of Word, Excel, CADD; familiarity with VFA software a plus.
