Job Description:	The Yazdani Studio is a design studio within Cannon Design, based in Los Angeles but operating across the platform of the firm. The Yazdani Studio integrates the best attributes of a design studio with the resources and reach of a global practice, producing unique environments for progressive institutions and individuals throughout the world. Many of the Yazdani Studio's projects are accomplished in partnership with Cannon Design, with the Yazdani Studio focused on the programmatic content and conceptual design of projects, and Cannon Design focused on building technology, documentation, and delivery. The new Project Director will play a pivotal role in the Studio Leadership Team, working as a key collaborator with Mehrdad Yazdani, responsible for the overall marketing and management effort to achieve the continuing, successful expansion of a portfolio of significant projects within the USA and internationally, whether developed privately or in the public realm. The Project Director's specific marketing responsibilities will include client strategies, market positioning, and business development, operating on a global platform. The Project Director will also participate in leadership of Yazdani Studio teams to create greater value for the firm's clients. The Project Director will serve as a client leader, responsible for building and sustaining relationships with clients across a broad range of client segments, and acting as an advocate to ensure that the firm's and studio's professional services are responsive to the client's goals and objectives. Since the Yazdani Studio operates across the platform of Cannon Design, the Project Director will have a significant amount of interaction with Market and Practice Leaders for various regions of the firm's operations, especially those involved with the Western Region and International. The Project Director will also collaborate with the Design Leader and Design Manager within the Yazdani Studio. Requirements: Candidates should have a commitment to providing high quality, award winning design services for academic, institutional, cultural, commercial and public clients, with experience working both within the USA and internationally. In addition, candidates should have experience that demonstrates the capability to build client relationships, lead and mentor personnel, and achieve successful results with a high level of quality, productivity, and profitability. Because the work of the Yazdani Studio includes a wide variety of project types and scales, versatility is imperative. In addition to experience with management and marketing, a background working with high profile design projects is preferred. Candidates for the position should be self-motivated, articulate, and experienced in working successfully with others. In addition, candidates should be available to travel. The position requires at least 12 years of architectural experience, with a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in architecture, as well as experience in project leadership marketing, business development, and/or management for a studio, practice group, or regional office. Candidates should be licensed architects. In addition, since the firm places a high priority on sustainable design, LEED professional accreditation is preferred. Specific experience should include: 1. Experience developing relationships with new and existing clients that would enhance the firm's competitive advantage and positioning in targeted market sectors. 2.
