Job Description:	Mellon Certified Restoration specializes in the repair and reconstruction of properties damaged by fire, smoke, water or other peril. We respond 24 hours a day to emergencies, and pride ourselves on helping to 'bring order to the chaos' of restoring a home or business to its pre-loss condition. We are headquartered just outside Philadelphia, in Yeadon, Delaware County. We operate full service offices in Lehigh Valley, Harrisburg, Huntingdon Valley, Scranton, Yeadon, and our newest location in Exton, enabling us to respond to more than a thirty five county area in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. NEEDED: Mellon Certified Restoration is seeking a skilled lead carpenter and a carpenter helper to join our Exton branch team. Requirements SUMMARY FOR LEAD CARPENTER Lead and support carpentry team. Restore damaged property to pre-loss condition. Plan job schedule. Demo, rebuild and finish job in a timely, efficient, profitable and professional manner, using carpentry and job management skills. Participate in all aspects of construction, and advise carpenters and helpers. Keep customer and production manager informed of job progress. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Has own truck, and tools to perform most job tasks. Begin with work order as assigned by production manager. Organize tools, materials and equipment to be used to accomplish tasks and phases. Type of work may include any or all of the following, or other duties as may be assigned: Demolition, Insulation, flooring, ceramic tile, siding, roofing, masonry, plumbing, electrical, doors and windows, drop ceilings, cabinetry, carpentry (rough and finish), paneling, water extraction, drying techniques, cleaning and deodorization, pack outs, fire/vandalism board-ups, mold mitigation, drywall, painting, landscaping, Accustrip/sandblasting. Is included in the on-call rotation for emergency response after regular work hours. Must be able to wear a properly fitted half or full face respirator. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervise crews of employees in the Carpentry, Helper or Driver categories on a per job basis. Oversees subcontractor progress on jobs. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, safety rules and applicable laws. Responsibilities would include training employees in specific tasks; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems on job site. Specific areas where these physical demands would exist are: flooring installation, water extraction, most carpentry tasks, installing large bow windows, rough framing, heavy demo work, carrying, lifting up drywall, cabinetry, shingles, driving. BRIEF SUMMARY - CARPENTER HELPER Assist other personnel in restoration of damaged property from start to finish. Demo, rebuild and finish job in a timely, efficient, profitable and professional manner. Participate in most aspects of construction, and follow directions given by lead carpenter/carpenter on the job.Follow work order tasks as assigned by lead carpenter, carpenter or production manager. Organize tools, materials and equipment to be used to accomplish tasks and phases.
