Job Description:	This is structure and craft work involving rough and finish carpentry. Work includes performing skilled hand and bench carpentry duties including the operation of power driven woodworking machinery. Work assignments are received in the form of oral or written instructions, sketches, or plans. Supervision may be exercised over one or more unskilled workers. Work is performed under general supervision. Job Requirements Knowledge of methods, techniques and practices of carpentry trade. Knowledge of carpentry tools. Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade. Ability to make simple estimates of time and materials. Ability to work from sketches. Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions. Ability to use carpentry hand and power tools. Ability to read and work from blueprints. Education Requirements Two (2) years educations and/or experience in carpentry.
Company Description:	We strive to carry out the provisions of the trust, created by Percival P. Baxter, and known to the people of Maine as Baxter State Park. The Baxter State Park Authority exists to ensure that the Park "Shall forever be kept and remain in the Natural Wild State", to provide recreational opportunities to the public in accordance with trust provisions, to operate and maintain the Park for the use and enjoyment of Maine's people. Our year-round staff of 23 swells to about 60 in the summer, including administration and reservation personnel, maintenance personnel, and field and law enforcement rangers. Our seasonal positions average a term of 15-26 weeks in length. More than 10% of our seasonal workers have been with Baxter State Park for at least 15 years, with the average tenure for all of our seasonal employees at about 3-5 years. Growth and advancement opportunities exist within the field for the short season and, on occasion, seasonal employees advance to full-time, year-round positions.
