Job Description:	The Pre Fab Electrical Apprentice assists Journeyman and others in the Pre Fab the install and repair of electrical wiring, fixtures and equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1) Assist in assembling Conduit racks , spooling wire, and various simple assemblies 2) Measures, cuts and bends wire and conduit, using tape measure and hand tools 3) Operates power tools such as drills, saws, pullers, tuggers, etc. 4) Installs conductors in race way and cable tray using manual and power equipment. 5) Assists in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects, such as wiring, conduit and motors 6) Load, transport, unload, and furnish Journeyman and others with materials, equipment, tools, and supplies 7) May assist in lifting, positioning and securing of materials and work pieces during installation 8) Perform housekeeping duties as required 9) Perform other routine duties as directed by experienced craft person TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: For full time company employees, limited travel is expected. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Has two to four years experience or has completed coursework at a Trade School, Technical College, or approved Apprenticeship Training Program with 5000 to 8000 hours of on the job training. Ability to speak additional languages helpful • Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform arithmetical operations accurately • Reasoning Ability: Ability to information using measurable standards • Ability to work cooperatively with others • Ability to follow specific directions and ask clarifying questions • Ability to repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure • Ability to work within standards of accuracy PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or listen. The employee frequently is required to stand or walk for long periods of time, and use hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects. The employee is frequently required to climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolds while carrying tools. Reach for, handle and grasp wires and hand tools, bend, crouch, stoop kneel, and work in small places, and lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, recognize slight differences in shapes or shading, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often exposed to high, precarious places, risk of electrical shock and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employee must adhere to the rules of construction while on the construction site. Required PPE (hard hat, gloves and safety glasses) are provided by Interstates, employees are responsible for their work boots.
