Job Description: Position Description:

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Scheduling Engineer drives the scheduling processes for designated business unit and manages the department and staff of scheduling engineers. Will also prepare and maintain schedules, develop and review project baselines, monitor and track progress. Support project in claim situations. Responsible for the protection and promotion of the interest of Turner Construction Company in all matters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee the preparation of summary and detail level schedules for a variety of project sizes.

Develop full CPM logic generated baseline schedules for large and small projects (ranging from 100 to 2000 activities).

Perform monthly progress updates and create target comparison and periodic look-ahead schedules. Monitor and track progress at detailed and summary level as necessary.

Develop and update cost loaded schedules when required.

Take the lead on all project schedule reviews.

Support Business Development and business unit marketing activities in the development and preparation proposal presentations. This includes developing preliminary bar chart schedules and staffing charts.

Provide support and training in the use of P3 and Suretrak to office and jobsite personnel as required.

Periodic visits to project for schedule review and analysis as required.

Train and support staff on projects.

Perform other duties as necessary.


Qualifications

A minimum of seven years of scheduling experience with Primavera software and applications (P3 and Suretrak programs) on building projects, large project experience is essential. Additional experience in project engineering, field supervision or purchasing is desirable. Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions and trade practices. Conceptual ability to work with minimum information. Excellent oral and written skills required. Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft office suite programs. Management experience required.


Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Performance of the duties will occasionally require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the periodically works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
