Job Description:	Background Estimating Engineers are responsible for preparation or review of screening level to funding/sanction cost and schedule estimates to support upstream oil and gas project evaluation and execution decisions. Description KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Preparation of concept selection (screening level), Post-FEED (Bid Check) and Project Sanction cost and schedule estimates to support upstream oil and gas project investment decisions – Must have strong data management skills and familiarity with basic facility estimating processes and methods • Review and conditioning of contractor prepared estimates – Estimators may be placed in contractor offices to work day to day to prepare an estimate basis memorandum and evaluate contractor selection of unit rates and productivities vs. Company norms • Preparation of estimate confidence and estimate review presentations for management – Proficiency in standard presentation preparation software, specifically Microsoft Powerpoint KEY RELATIONSHIPS Reports to: • Project Services Division Estimating Group Supervisor or Estimating Leads Direct Reports: • Junior cost/schedule estimating engineers Internal Coordination: • Interface with Estimating Group Estimating Leads and other Cost and Schedule estimators • Interface with Data Management and Tools Development Group Supervisor and Engineers on issues related to existing databases and tools • Interface with Project Controls Supervisor and SME on schedule application, technology and processes • Interface with Project Teams and Company Functional (Engineering, Construction, Planning) Organizations External Interfaces • Engineering/Construction Contractors • Government Agencies • Company Affiliates JOB ATTRIBUTES / CHARACTERISTICS • Expert to advanced level proficiency in data management, estimate preparation and review/reporting • Influencing, consulting, organization and analytical skills • Adaptability to changing priorities • Strong interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills Requirements Candidates must have experience with one or more of the following upstream oil and gas development areas: onshore and offshore processing facilities (gas treatment/ dehydration, gas compression, crude separation/stabilization, power generation, water treatment), oil and gas pipelines, LNG, infrastructure, buildings, camps, offshore substructures (floating and fixed bottom concepts), subsea systems (subsea wells, manifolds, umbilicals, risers and flowlines), engineering, transportation and installation, hook-up and commissioning and project management. Candidates must have high proficiency in data management processes and software associated with estimate preparation and reconciliation. This includes use of standard spreadsheet software specifically Microsoft Excel. Candidates must be willing to work in a team environment and to mentor inexperienced employees.
