Job Description: OVERVIEW:
Perform preventive/predictive maintenance electrical tasks, troubleshoot, adjust, calibrate, and repair heavy-duty mobile equipment on an as needed basis. Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild equipment components. This equipment includes shovels, loaders, haul trucks, dozers, patrols, water trucks, drills, scrapers and other equipment involved in the mining and milling operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Perform preventative/predictive maintenance and repairs on mobile mining, transportation and auxiliary equipment. Complete assigned safety rounds and make necessary repairs and/or clean up.

1. Troubleshooting and maintenance on the electrical systems of the mill including work on the computer system, supply belts, motor starters, signals, cranes, lights, pumps, and drives. Perform check on all cords on a yearly bases.

2. Regular preventive maintenance inspection of the drills and shovels to make sure they are safe operations.Perform checks and install and repair mobile radios and keep base in proper working order. Perform power line construction and repair as required.

3. Study and keep current on the National Electric Code as developed by NFPA.Perform preventive maintenance inspection on the back-up generators during power outages and make sure they are all working as per design.Write work orders and requisition parts for projects and repair jobs.

4. Perform work place inspections must be done prior to the start of each shift. Restore power to the security trailer during power outage by starting and maintaining the portable on site generator. Maintain, operate and lock-out the portable substations in the mine as require to move power cables and perform maintenance on equipment.

5. Perform preventive maintenance and operation of the pumps at the lower and upper pump house, culinary well, and deep well. Install, repair and do preventive maintenance on instruments in the mill and other areas as required. Maintain control system communications between the deep well, thickener, upper pond, and Conda.

SKILL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Must complete four-year apprenticeship, and pass the national test for Idaho Journeyman Electrical License.

EXPERIENCE: Two years as a Journeyman Electrician in an industrial or mining operation.
