Job Description:	SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY: The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. * Five years of grounds maintenance related work experience which includes at least two years of lead experience; OR Associate's degree in Horticulture or related field and three years of grounds maintenance related work experience which included two years of lead experience; OR any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education. * Knowledge of equipment and procedures of grounds construction and maintenance including synthetic in-fill products. * Knowledge of techniques of planting and maintaining plants, trees and shrubs suited to the area location. * Capable of delegating effectively and acknowledging accomplishments; communicates plans and information to staff in timely manner; promotes teamwork and cooperation within the department * Ability to resolve concerns expeditiously and independently. * Must have excellent written/verbal communication skills, be detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks and adapt to change. * Candidate must have strong leadership, interpersonal and supervisory skills. * Need to be able to lift heavy weights and work long hours during physically demanding shifts. * Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Lotus Notes. * Fluency in Spanish is desirable but not required. Due to the cyclical nature of the entertainment industry, the employee may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the company. Job Description : POSITION PURPOSE: The Director of Grounds is responsible for full oversight and performance of field maintenance which includes all playing surfaces at Red Bull Arena and Red Bull Training Grounds. The Director of Grounds will oversee a team of full-time and part-time employees that will maintain four (4) natural grass surfaces, three synthetic fields and landscaping at two different locations. The Director of Grounds will have expertise at the grounds-keeping occupation requiring considerable knowledge of grounds maintenance tools and techniques; turf grass science, staff management, skilled and semi-skilled grounds maintenance functions and landscape architecture. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Responsible for all aspects of all fields at RB Arena and Training Facility Fields. * Plans, coordinates and monitors all turf care and projects related to any/all of the New York Red Bull’s fields. * Supervises and schedules all turf care employees. * Responsible for ordering and maintaining all products necessary for grounds maintenance. * Trains part time employees on use of equipment. * Identifies turf grass diseases, weeds, pests and takes appropriate action to correct these issues. * Works with the General Manager on all field issues and annual budget. * Operates light duty vehicles, ride on mowers, push mowers etc. * Supervises installation of all fields. * Experience with turf management during special events such as concerts and trade shows. * Maintains good working relationships with all vendors. * Creates a good working relationship with coaches.
