Job Description:	Responsibilities: We are currently looking for an Environmental Specialist to be responsible for leading and maintaining environmental compliance programs for our Buildings Segment, including primary responsibility for environmental compliance at Houston-area metal buildings manufacturing facility. The Environmental Specialist will report directly to the Vice President of Environmental Affairs and will be responsible but not limited to the following duties: 1. Provide oversight and technical/regulatory support for day-to-day environmental compliance activities for air, water, waste and emergency response at nine additional metal buildings manufacturing facilities across the country. 2. Assist the Vice President of Environmental Affairs with periodic internal compliance audit activities and management oversight of segment Environmental Management System, including, but not limited to, document control, training, and system monitoring/measurement. 3. Prepare, implement and maintain applicable environmental training programs throughout segment. 4. Engender teambuilding and cooperation throughout the segment environmental compliance team. This list simply hits the high points of the Environmental Specialist duties and is not all inclusive to the duties and requirements of this position. Qualifications: * An Engineering or Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university with a minimum of five to 10 years of industrial manufacturing environmental compliance or environmental consulting experience is required. Must have the ability to read and grasp local, state and federal environmental regulations; technical documents; and mathematical calculations. * Project management experience is a plus. Direct hands-on experience or a general working knowledge of NSR (state and federal), RCRA, NPDES/storm water and SPCC rules and compliance requirements; environmental management systems; and environmental due diligence is a plus. * Must be positive, self-motivated, energetic and ethical, and have the ability to efficiently manage work flow, schedules and deadlines. * Must have effective communication skills and the ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and personalities, from senior management to hourly plant personnel. * Moderate travel required.
