Job Description:
Duties
KCI Technologies, Inc., a dynamic employee-owned engineering firm, currently has an opening for a mid-level Construction Manager with degree in Virginia (Petersburg area). CM will function in an Agency role and be responsible for oversight of project schedule and budget as well as quality assurance of contractors work. CM will be required to prepare and analyze schedules, prepare cost estimates and negotiate change orders, maintain document control, solve construction problems in the field, and establish an effective working relationship with clients, contractors, and designers.
Experience
Agency CM experience required; experience with CM At-Rick projects preferred. CCM certification a plus. Experience with building construction and renovations, Primavera 'Contract Manager', Suretrack desired.
Skills
Familiarity with CPM scheduling and standard scheduling software. Knowledge of the construction contract administration and project execution processes. Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications. Familiarity with cost estimating and standard estimating software. Ability to manage budgets. Familiarity with establishing and maintaining document control on a construction project, and use of document control software. Ability to use a computer and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong writing and speaking skills. Ability to work with and establish long-term relationships with clients, contractors, and design engineers.
Degrees / Licenses (R)equired – (P)referred
CCM preferred, PE preferred, Bachelors degree in engineering or construction management from an accredited university preferred.
Other
Government project experience (particularly, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers) is a preferred option. Project location in Petersburg, VA area.
