Job Description:	Job Summary: Phoenix Arizona is a world-class city with affordable housing with an extensive freeway system that connects all parts of the Valley. Phoenix is located in a desert valley that enjoys spring like weather from October to May. Major Duties: The incumbent serves as electrician for the Engineering Department's Project Construction Crew. Will perform new and remodel construction activities, such as: working from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and electrical maintenance and repair manuals to plan and lay out the routing, placement, type, size, gauge, balance, load, continuity, and safe operation of electrical lines, circuits, systems, equipment and controls. Determines and places distribution panels, boxes, fittings, and connections and install wiring, couplings, conduit, relays, fixtures, transformers and other electrical devices including electrical service entrances and demolishes similar material no longer required. The work involves installing, modifying, repairing, and maintaining electrical lines, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment. Examples of these are secondary power distribution lines, and circuits used to supply a wide range of voltage, amperage, phase, and frequency requirements to distribution panels, switch gear, power and control circuits; industrial multiphase systems; thermocouple sensors; electrical intrusion alarm and fire alarm systems; emergency warning systems; lighting protection systems; high intensity lighting systems with associated controls; target mechanisms; AC and DC rectification systems; galvanic and impressed current cathode protection systems which prevent corrosion on underground or submerged equipment and pipes; amplifier circuits; and related electrical equipment. Incumbent must be able to determine materials, supplies, and parts necessary to accomplish any phase of electrical work and furnish correct and concise information to their supervisor for procurement by use of DHCP/VISTA-AMES MERS.
